Have any shop projects?

I’m terrible at woodworking, but I can make a few things. I was looking for a keyboard riser for my standing desk, and couldn’t find anything that worked. The problem is that when you are seated, you want the keyboard to angle slightly upwards, whereas when you are standing, you want to angle it downwards. The nearest I could find on Amazon was $120. So I went to Lowes and bought $18 of lumber.

Behold:

Pardon the mess. That’s a treadmill underneath.

What have you built?

My first attempt at spinning a piece of Birch wood on my friend’s wood lathe. Pretty exciting. I’m looking to buy a cheap used lathe to practice with a few more times before I see if it’s something worth developing. Creating even a simple thing with my hands, in the physical world, was such a neat thing.

That looks fun. I have my dad’s old craftsman lathe and the motor, but I don’t know what I’m doing.
